Had new air conditioner installed by Ontario Consumers Home Services in 2009. They had a rep look at unit and all we got what was wrong from duct work to unit installed by electric company. What was not taken into consideration was the high electric bills we had. I am sure many have received the same experience with their services guys. ComplaintsBoard.com is a leading complaint resolution website on the Internet.
They have their monthly contract and clearly will spend more on their lawyers than on their service. They only answer the phone about 20% of the time. I asked for my contract which billing said they would email to me - they didn't. Asked to speak with a manager, which customer service said would call me - they didn't.
Ontario Consumers Home Services Reviews FAQs
He kept saying things about regulations and qualifications. Meanwhile I'm googling the company on my phone & found this post but I let it play out to see what else he had to say. Tried to repeat everything about saving me money & that I need the filter & I told him I'll look up more info on this carbon filter that you're telling me I need & if I do in fact need it, I'll give YOU a call. As he was leaving he goes "when your water heater bursts & floods your basement, make sure you get the carbon filter installed". When the next Enbridge bill came, we got charged for Air Purifier and water softener that was not even installed. We called OCHS, but they said we had 10 days to cancel and we did not, so we have to pay.
OGS CEO Saeed Torbati has used a number of company names and corporate entities over the years to operate the same business model. You may be eligible for an upgrade from your current supplier. In the proposed class action settlement, Ontario Energy Group and Home Trust Company have also agreed to clarify the termination terms of their contract and improve their lien and security registration practices. They won't pay you for 3 weeks and you will only be paid for your first week on the first paycheck so in the end they always have about 2 weeks pay that they withhold from you. Once you leave the company there will be no pay for you and they will tell you that they withhold pay for 90 days because of some company policy. This is something they just make up not to pay you because there was no mention of something like that in the contract you sign with them. Ontario Consumers Home Services is a 100% Canadian owned and operated company.
A program that benefits the consumer, assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business. As I've mentioned, that binder they carry is full of false information and is merely a prop for them to stage the whole extravaganza of being a "qualified" technician. Conveniently, they have a page that compares the rates between all the different competing companies to theirs haha! Good thing that lad is strictly on commission, because professionalism goes a long way if he was in the real business of representing Enbridge, or any other legitimate company.
Ontario Consumers Complaint 313736 for $900.00
We did not cancel because our bill came after 10 days passed. My dad signed a contract for water heater at the door in January 8th 2018 and today I got a bill for tankless water heater. The saleperson said the amount for monthly payment will be covered by a credit which is not true. He claimed the water heater is old and if anything happened to the reliance old water heater they will not able to fix it.
He came and checked the unit and told us that it needs to be replaced. We settled the paperwork’s and he arranged the work schedule right away. They are very friendly, lay out some rugs to protect the floor and the work was professionally done. And they are happy to answer all our questions.
Water softener
They are currently stuck with this for another 59 months. So please please be careful and dont sign anything if you dont understand. In August, 2022, we were contacted by a representative from Ontario Green Savings. Our furnace, air conditioner and heat pump were at the tim 10 yrs. Old and had been installed initially all at the same time during a renovation .
Enbridge told me not even to let them into my house. Aug 31/22 I wanted to pay off the lease of the tank so I e-mailed the company CHICC which is to whom I am paying. The company’s billing said I could buyout the heater and they would move to terminate the contract and discharge the Notice Of Security Interest. E into renting a tankless water heater giving me all the numbers I would save with this.
To make a long story short, they had a Sudbury company attend my residence and they fixed the problem, , at no charge to me. Thanks so much for being a such honest and elegant young man. I wish I saw your posting earlier or I could turn back the clock and slam the door in front of those salesperson from OCHS who claimed that they were representing Enbridge.... Unfortunately I couldn't and I have to spend my tremendous time dealing with company and their staff who are willing to sell their soul to grab money from innocent people. We were tricked to sign contracts for both AC and furnace, and were also threatened to buy out the equipment with over $9000 for each, otherwise we will got sued...
Want to get rid of this rip off and possibly some of my moneys back . Those who may benefit from the settlement include Ontario residents who entered into a lease agreement for equipment with Ontario Energy Group, also known as MDG Newmarket, between May 1, 2012 and Dec. 31, 2016. Under the terms of the proposed settlement, Class Members may receive cancellation of their lease agreement and forgiveness of any money owed.
